  • Welcome to Lauren Nicole Photography!

My name is Lauren Nicole, and I have the best job in the world. I get to be with people during the happiest moments of their lives - when she says yes; when they say "I Do;" when she feels that little life growing in her belly; when that tiny, precious bundle nestles into daddy's arms; when they gather as family and celebrate one another. I get to share in the joy and happiness of your life and capture it for you in stunning detail. Your amazing wedding gown, a newborn's tiny eyelashes, the splash of freckles on a child's face, the shine and sparkle of that amazing diamond, and the hope of an incredible future in a senior's eyes.

I am living my own adventure, day by day, with my family of 5 - my awesome husband Brian, my teenage stepson Collin, and my sweet babies, 4 year old Kaitlyn and 2 year old Cameron. I wear some pretty awesome hats - photographer, pilot, gun-slinger, chef, grill master, wanna-be wine snob, video game addict, personal chauffeur, and, best of all, mom and wife. I started this adventure with photography in January of 2008 when I began to take my daughter's photos - a passion that has expanded beyond my hopes and dreams to include yours as well.

It's been my joy to feature couples and families throughout west Michigan and to destination locations, including Southern California.

Grand Rapids Wedding Affair | Winter 2012 | Grand Rapids Wedding Photographer

I had an amazing time at the Grand Rapids Wedding Affair last night; I met some amazing vendors and some even more amazing brides and grooms (and their various entourages). I haven’t been to the Grand Rapids Public Museum in a long time, so it was neat to get to walk around and peek at some of the exhibits. I also felt like my booth was a part of the museum, as I was on the third floor directly in front of the giant clock. Which chimed extremely loudly every hour on the hour. If you were standing by my booth when it went off, I apologize for the clamor.:)

So many of the brides who stopped by were so excited about their weddings, and I was just as excited to hear about them. I heard about some amazing plans, some great ideas for how to personalize engagement sessions and wedding portraits, and some incredible locations. All over Michigan, a few for Chicago, and even two couples with islands in their future (one special Michigan location, complete with horse-drawn carriages and fudge; the other with palm trees and sunblock and passports). Regardless of when or where, I am looking forward to chatting with you all about how to best capture your entire day.

Here’s an iPhone shot of my booth right before cleanup time – you can see the giant clock behind the left side of my booth. I love this booth setup – I love the burlap and lace and the flowers. I’m mad at you ladies for not taking more of my Hershey Kisses, though, the whole bag came home with me.;)

Winter Engagement in Michigan | Marie & Dave sneak peek

I had to share this shot from Marie & Dave’s recent engagement session. I won’t lament about our lack of a white Christmas here in Kalamazoo (because I actually was okay with it, being that I don’t like driving in the stuff), but having a burst of snow a few days later was perfect. The falling snowflakes add a certain magic to everything, not that Marie and Dave needed any help being magical or gorgeous. These two spent almost our entire time together laughing and smiling.

Congratulations on your engagement, Marie & Dave, and I cannot wait to share in your vintage ’30′s travel wedding this summer. More of your sweet images are to come, but for now, enjoy this one and have a great New Year!
