  • Welcome to Lauren Nicole Photography!

My name is Lauren Nicole, and I have the best job in the world. I get to be with people during the happiest moments of their lives - when she says yes; when they say "I Do;" when she feels that little life growing in her belly; when that tiny, precious bundle nestles into daddy's arms; when they gather as family and celebrate one another. I get to share in the joy and happiness of your life and capture it for you in stunning detail. Your amazing wedding gown, a newborn's tiny eyelashes, the splash of freckles on a child's face, the shine and sparkle of that amazing diamond, and the hope of an incredible future in a senior's eyes.

I am living my own adventure, day by day, with my family of 5 - my awesome husband Brian, my teenage stepson Collin, and my sweet babies, 4 year old Kaitlyn and 2 year old Cameron. I wear some pretty awesome hats - photographer, pilot, gun-slinger, chef, grill master, wanna-be wine snob, video game addict, personal chauffeur, and, best of all, mom and wife. I started this adventure with photography in January of 2008 when I began to take my daughter's photos - a passion that has expanded beyond my hopes and dreams to include yours as well.

It's been my joy to feature couples and families throughout west Michigan and to destination locations, including Southern California.

{ david | class of 2011 } grand rapids senior photographer

I’d say that David was like a little brother to me growing up, but now he’s head and shoulders taller than me! I’ve been close with his family since around the sixth grade. I spent many a night there, playing games and hanging out; I’ve traveled with them three times to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, for the EAA AirVenture airshow; and, I will not confirm or deny if any babysitting took place.;)

I can’t believe David is about to graduate, but look at this guy – he’s so ready to take on the world. I know this will be another huge summer for him as he volunteers at Oshkosh again this year, becomes a new uncle, and heads off to college in the fall.

David and I had a great time meeting at a park in Grand Rapids last October for his senior pictures. He brought his awesome personality, his fantastic sense of humor, and his Rock Band guitar. After, we found some fantastic old earth-movers behind his neighbor’s house and had to use them as well. I love the blue paint, rust and dirt. David was willing to trek all over the park and his neighbor’s land for the perfect shot, and I believe we got quite a few.

A new product I am offering for all of my clients are the Rep Cards – these are small (width of a business card and about two-thirds as tall), two-sided cards in full color. They come with a little metal case (picture coming soon), and you can have as many images on the front as cards you are ordering. They are cheap enough to hand out without discretion as well. I’ve seen these cards used as calling cards with seniors’ name, cell number, and Facebook link on the front – what a great idea for meeting new people at your freshmen orientation in college! I am including them with all of my Senior portrait sessions, branded with my studio name and link and a discount offer for your friends. Anyone who comes to me with one of these cards will receive a special discount on prints or services (they will vary per set!) – and best of all, YOU will receive a kick-back in free prints, future-session discounts, or special gift cards when your friends book a paid session with me. Check out some of David’s rep cards at the bottom of this post.

If you were to ask me how much I’ve spent in iTunes since getting two iPods, an iPhone, and my new iPad 2… I would be far too ashamed to tell you. Seriously, we’re not even going to talk about it…

;)

Thankfully, the hubs gave me an online gift card for Christmas that I turned into a $50 iTunes card.  My latest purchase was Kari Jobe’s album, which is faaaantastic. It’s so pretty and feminine; I especially love ‘Healer’ and ‘Revelation Song.’  It’s not on this album, but I also love her on ‘The More I Seek You’ on the album ‘Glorious’ (it’s track 6). Check them out here (click albums for links):

That didn’t put much of a dent in that gift card, so I have a nice little iTunes balance burning a hole in my account. Here’s how I want you to help me out:

Comment (one per person!) on this post with your favorite song or app for the iPhone or iPad so I have some new ideas to check out. You have until 11:59pm EST, April 20th. I’ll pick a random comment on April 21st and the winner will get a $10 iTunes gift card so you can try some new music or apps too. Multiple comments will be disqualified (sorry!).

If you win (or even if you don’t!), you should check out Kari Jobe on iTunes (I keep pronouncing it “Jo-bee” even though I KNOW it’s one syllable, long O). And, if you’re in the Kalamazoo area, she will be leading worship at my church on May 1st. I’m very excited.:)

Thanks and good luck!

My favorite iPhone app has to be “Talking Carl.” I love it, not because it’s hilarious (because it is) but because of how it makes my baby girl laugh. Sophie adores watching Carl giggle, grunt, and repeat what mommy says. Way too much fun…

I’ve been wanting a sitting with you for Dennis and myself. I know what an awsome photographer you are!! Hope I win.
Love,
Keva

something old { something new } | kalamazoo wedding photographer

You  may have wound up here after trying to visit Pegasus Photography dot com, my former “brand.” Never fear, dear friend, you have come to the right place! After two years operating as Pegasus Photography, I decided to re-brand my business to make it reflect better on my name and style. Hence, Lauren Nicole Photography! You might still see a few traces of Pegasus lingering around here – specifically on imported blog images that I didn’t feel like updating.;)

Fairly soon, you will see another new transition on this space as the colors and logo for Lauren Nicole Photography change. I would love for your input as these changes unfold – both on how you feel about the new web space as well as the new colors and logos (times two!). I promise not to cry or throw things if you don’t like them, but I think you’ll love it as much as I do.

What is to come in 2011? That all depends on you! In addition to displaying the best of the best from 2010, I want to feature YOU! Your beautiful life. I love your big, delicious, beautiful life. I want to be there when you say “I do!” or when you bring home your tiny, perfect bundle of ADORABLENESS. You have a rockin’ family – I want to take the photos to prove it. And you high school juniors & seniors, bring it. Let’s rock it out.

So please, drop me a line. I’ll be offering some “New brand!” specials to start off 2011 and my new name with a kick. Keep tuned to this space for the 411.

Thank you for visiting. It makes me love you even more. ♥
